Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Undergo Parliamentary Grilling Following Allegations of Partiality in Disclosed Document

Former British Broadcasting Corporation advisers testifying in front of MPs

We open with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that leads the group.

She commences by providing details to the leaked document prepared by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.

"I don't want the BBC leaning this way or that way, My only wish is for it neutral, impartial and fair," he says.

Upon being questioned whether he believes the BBC is structurally prejudiced, the adviser replies: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the BBC produces is world class - including informative and non-factual programming."

However, he continues: "There remains real work that must be undertaken at the BBC."

The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation adviser questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "ongoing system and active debate" regarding dynamic and complex subjects.

"Whether the BBC was ready to have a proper conversation and exchange and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "As I see it, yes they were."
