It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
